Sony Looking To Break Even On PS3s By March 2008

The PS3, man, it costs a lot. If it's any consolation, though, it also costs Sony a lot, with the company losing an estimated USD$200 on every console they sell. That'd be something they'd want sorted. Enter Sony executive Vice President Nobuyuki Oneda, who has said in a conference call that the PS3 just might be breaking even by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2008, due mainly to a reduction in the cost of components and a switch from 90nm chips to 65nm chips. Good news for shareholders, not so good news for anyone expecting any major price-cuts.
