A New, Red 360 Controller, Just In Time For Gears 2

Remember that red controller Microsoft showed off at E3? We figured it had a Christmas theme. Turns out it doesn't. The theme is instead blood, as it's been announced that the "limited edition" red controller will be out on November 2 is out right now (in North America, it's not out in Australia until November). Which is, yes, just before Gears of War 2 is released. It's to be released in a bundle with a play-and-charge kit, will go for USD$65, and will be available in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Japanese Site: It's Time To Talk PS4

While Sony's been touting the PS3's ten year life-span, Hiroshige Goto from Japanese site PC Watch is already talking PLAYSTATION 4. According to Goto, Sony is apparently moving forward with the PS4 and considering using the Cell Broadband Engine that powers the PS3 as the next console's architectural base. Sony, Goto points out, has invested heavily in the Cell so that it can be updated with new iterations and used for a long period of time — a point that does give strength to the rumor he floats.
