360s? They die. They explode, they disintegrate, they spontaneously combust, they become self-aware and go on murderous rampages. In short, they're largely unreliable pieces of kit. But the much-maligned PS3...well, we haven't heard much about breakdowns or failures. In fact, I can't remember seeing or hearing of any at all.
blindrocket's over on NeoGAF did, though. It shuffled off this mortal coil, and trapped his Oblivion disc inside it's dying clutches. Sensing a story, he's been documenting his customer service experience. And for anyone who's endured Microsoft's, it makes for warm and fuzzy reading.
The long and short of it is that he got a brand new replacement console (not a refurb), and the whole process from death to resurrection (or...replacement) took less than three weeks.
Throw in some helpful and understanding customer support staff and you've got the feel good story of the week!
