Here's a great little pair of Intellivison Burger Time commercials from 1983. This first one is a live action affair complete with people dressed in wiener and pickle costumes. The second uses a slightly different voiceover script, and animated sequences replace the live action ones. Thankfully it retains that catchy Burger Time theme remix music from the fist commercial. I don't particularly remember seeing these commercials when they were on, but I do remember plugging ridiculous amounts of quarters into this game as a kid and it's still one of my favorite classic arcade games. Note the great list of systems it's available for at the end.

I actually remember the first commercial. Also, I love the part were it mentions Aquarius. LOL!
I love Burger Time. I played the Intellivision version as a little girl, and it still remains my favorite version.
I always loved this game.
God I loved the eighties.
Awesome! I remember this commercial, it was my first Meme. My mom and i used to say the line "We are Cloooosed now!" to each other all the time, to great comedic effect.
I had no idea it was for a video game at the time. Thank you for the nostalgia trip.
Aww, I only ever played the Nintendo version. Loved it though. Fond memories of going to my grandma's house, busting out her NES and playing the crap out of tons of games.
We are closed NOW!!!!!!!
The songs in those commercials are so awesome.
BURGER TIME!
They knew how to make game ads back then, really, they are lame and cheesy, but loveable, unlike the annoying, fake, lame ads that we have now.
I want Burger Time again!
Terrifying. That hot dog creeped me out as a kid, and now all those repressed memories came shooting back. NO! YOU CAN'T BE CLOSED NOW!
I can`t wait for Burgertime to hit XBLA. It'll be a blast! today I got the NES version boxed with the manual for literally nothing. Coincidence!
I loved that game.
Is that some early CG in the second video? I think it is.
That's the kid who was in Escape From Witch Mountain way back in the day. Now those were fun kids movies!!!!
man, i haven't heard the name intellivision in like forever!!
i could never figure out the remote controller. i remember playing biplanes and b17 bomber with the voice synthesiser!! i was like 6 or 7.
then Nintendo came along with this Mario bros thing.
so am i to believe that Mario is his first name and his last? what is he wolverine or something?
good memories though,
this is one of my favorite games of all time.
all games since just feel like they're trying too hard.
Mario is named (according to the live action movie, the live action show and maybe a few other places) Mario Mario, which makes Luigi's name Luigi Mario *sighs* Yeah, I know, poor Luigi...
Also Wolverine is James Howlett, not that it matters.
I like the talking wiener.
I was never big on Burger Time. My favorite games of the golden era were Gyruss and Spy Hunter. This commercial would have sold me on it at the age of 8 though.
jeffx: God I loved the eighties.
Those were the first words out of my mouth too. Everything just seemed so... innocent back then.
I feel so lucky to have been born in 1980. People with mullets and day-glo track suits were cool.
"The 1982 television commercial for Intellivision's Burgertime is still memorable to old school gamers. In particular, the end of the commercial where the giant hot dog character (an actor in a hot dog suit) slams the door of the drive-through window in the face of an innocent couple while screaming "We are closed...Now!" A year later, during the videogame crash of 1983 and the impending closing of Intellivision's doors, this catchphrase became a running gag with soon to be out of work Intellivision employees."
From Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt.
It's all about "Deadly Dogs" the easter egg in BurgerTime for intellivision which sets you in Discs of Tron but with the hotdogs from BT.
Hotdogs with discs > up up down down left right
I remember these commercials. I was about 4 or 5 then and my brother had it for Intellivision. That game used to fill me with anxiety, probably because of the commercials. Those hot dogs were the stuff that nightmares are made of.
