Digital Battle is reporting that an 8 page document detailing the entire Halo 3 plot line has been leaked to the Internet. But before we quote a snippet, we're going to just flat out say 'hoax!'
Use a branding iron to melt the Bungie Logo into our doltish foreheads if we're wrong, but when a random Word document shows up on the Internet starting with the sentence "I believe bungie studios has already completed making halo 3 and is simply strategically waiting to release it," we start thinking this isn't in actuality an internal Bungie document. Especially when the rest of the storyline has the breathless, wouldn't-this-be-awesome style of standard gaming fan fiction wankery.
Upon returning from deep space, after destroying the weapon known as Halo during a conflict with the Convenant, you, the Master Chief and your trusty AI guidance system Cortana, find yourself in front row seats to the end of Earth. Covenant Armada Battleships attack at the Earth mercilessly in hopes of destroying your very world. Seeing the imminent danger, you jump into action. Literally.
I mean, spoilers, we guess. Download it here, if you're so inclined. Judge for yourself. We'll let you know when Bungie starts contemptuously chuckling at its idiot fan base.
Halo 3 Storyline Leaked? [Digital Battle]

Probably the easiest way to tell that it's fake is that this document involves Cortana being with the Master Chief. And Bungie went on record, in their Behind The Scenes movie for their trailer, saying that one of the things that makes Halo 3 unique from the previous two is that Cortana and the Master Chief would be seperated, for at least the beginning of the game.
"With some sort of sonar equipment they locate what appears to be an armored body underground, and after a few moments of digging using another advanced machine they pry up your body, the body of Master Chief. "Is he alive" one of the men asks, and the other responds "yes, but he's unconscious." One of the other's ask who he is, and the pilot responds: "Our hero.""
Would Bungie really allow the FINAL game in the Halo series to end like this? It's the cheesiest ending I have ever read. You might as well have Master Chief walk off into the sunset, hand in hand with Cortana...skipping!
Or Master Chief is lying on the sandy floor of Africa, and Cortana walks up and starts to pull half of his helmet up off his face, showing a rough, unshaven chin. "John! John! Are you OK?!"
"I am now"

Personally, I hope Master Chief dies at the end of this game. And I hope we never get to see his face, just so that in a week or so after it's release we can hear the fanboys lament.
Bah, I don't think they should kill the Chief. He's an ultimate badass, he can't die.
If they're going to do something stupid with him, they should have him end up fighting... for the rest of eternity, like Jet Li in The One.
Well, my work is done for the day. Here is a link to a club on 1up that has this same story on it, and posts on it dating back to the beginning of this year. First really badly faked Halo 2/Half-Life 2 art, now this? Man, those Bungie fanboys have been working overtime this week.

A "leaked" Halo 3 plot isn't a real "leaked" Halo 3 plot without this ending.
"Halo during a conflict with the Convenant, you, the Master Chief and your trusty AI guidance system Cortana.." That doesn't sound like a script...more like a blurb from the back of an Xbox game case.
But you know the real reason I know this can't be the Halo 3 plot?
They never finished the Halo 2 plot.
*rimshot*
"trusty AI guidance system"? Sounds more like someone writing a TV pilot for the sci-fi channel using something they thought up while jazzed up on fruit loops watching saturday morning cartoons.
I call BS.
I owuld have to agree, it's not script or plot, it's more like a poorly written story. And I would very much agree with the back of case theory. Also, "trusty" who uses that word when talking about futerustic stufF? I can see a "trusty sword" or somthing that is physical, but AI? come on
While Halo 3 looks pretty nice, judging by the 'in-engine' teaser, I've never been a huge fan of the series. Sure, multiplayer is fun, but the story just doesn't grip me. It's like sending a cheesy 'B' alien invasion movie to bible camp and asking it how its summer was.
"It's like sending a cheesy 'B' alien invasion movie to bible camp and asking it how its summer was."
I don't understand.
Sheesh, there's been so many fake Halo 3 "leaks" lately, you'd think Bungie would switch to the more absorbant brand of adult diapers.
in the end this can't be real as bungie has explicitly said that the Arbiter, though showing up periodically in the campaighn as an ally is only playable as second player in the co-op mode. also this makes mention of the fact that there is a battle taking place on earth between some elites and a group of humans(soon following said 'Ivory Tower' mission)this also can not be true as, reading through the bungie site, the humans and the elites have sided as one. this starts right away following halo 2. Bungie has also said that the game takes place on earth, high charity, and ANOTHER halo. and finally bungie has also said that the first mission is entitled 'Seirra 117' and takes place on the ground in new mombasa, near the ruins of the space elevator. sorry whoevermade this but i'm calling the hoax.
