For those of you unlucky enough to have purchased Bubble Bobble revolution for the DS last year are well aware buy now that you bought a defective product. The missing boss on Level 30 prevented players from being able to progress any further in the game and left a bad taste in many gamer's mouths.
But, it seems that Codemasters is trying to make up for this gaffe by not only sending everyone who purchased the truncated version a new game, but they are also throwing in a free copy of the universally panned Rainbow Islands Revolution. I'm not too sure this actually makes up for producing a defective product, but I suppose they had to do something with that warehouse full of Rainbow Island games. I'm so glad they were able to find another way to foist that piece of crap onto a group of poor unsuspecting gamers.

Umm, how long after they bought the game? Its been like 6 months! Plus I don't know if thats all that great of a reward...
If it is anything like the old NES game Rainbow Islands, then it is not crap. Not in my mind anyways. I used to spend hours on that game (and my mom too, oddly enough)! Never could get past the 4th island, if I remember correctly...
hey so does anyone know if driver 2 on the gameboy advanced had the same problem (glitch made it impossible to pass)?
I was unfortunate enough to buy that game back in the day and I never passed it because one of the levels, you had to set a bomb then run to the target spot, except when you ran to the target spot nothing happened, it just didnt respond, and you end up dying making it impossible to pass that level.
Had they forgot to code that part of the game, or am I just completely retarded?
Ah well, at least Codemasters didn't send them another LMA/TOCA/Colin McRae sequel.
I think I'll stick to playing Bubble Bobble on my MVS cab.
i woudln't complain about a free copy of rainbow islands rev. i loved the original and the ds version is a good remake
That is some "original Mega Man"-level box art right there.
Why do people continue to develop Washed out games based on Bubble Bobble?
Bubble Bobble is my all time favorite game but every other game that has been released afterwards has been terrible.
@NighTrekr: Yes, that has to be some of the most egregiously bad box art I've seen since the SNES days.
That is the honest to goodness box art right there? How do you "okay" something like that? Clearly a rush job.
@Megaseven: Because, unfortunatly, that's the style the WHOLE game is in.
That boxart is terrible. It looks like it was done in Microsoft Word.
hooray?
Welcome to the wonderful world of Codemasters, where they made one good game (one of the Dizzy games, I hear - I played one of them and never saw what was so damn good about it) and then spent the money from that making turd after turd after turd. It's like they're channeling the same evil Acclaim was into.
That cover is disgusting. I really like Bob and Bub normally I have no idea how they messed them up that bad. Why not just take the old graphics and throw them on there? Would have been a lot better than that crap.
The years have not been kind to Bub and Bob. They've put on 50 pounds.
Ok, now is it just me, or is the blue one (Bob I belive) really really creepy looking in that picture?
He looks like a little kid that's about to stomp a cat. I mean good lord, what's he looking at? What's he smiling about? And his eyes! Look at his eyes! If you look at them long enough you can see that they are actually solid black with white highlights. Bob's eyes no longer sparkle, oh no, now they gleam with murderous intent.
@LordAzrael:
Priceless.
Bubble Bobble: Boston & Shaun edition?
(If you do not understand the reference, try not to Google "Boston & Shaun" if you value your sanity)
I can't find any info on giving CodeMasters my address. Can anyone please let me know where I am supposed to go to take advantage of this offer? I kept this game even after I got stuck on that level, because I found it amusing to have such a glitched game, but now that there is an improved version, I would like to get it.
@Karlott:
must have been all those cakes ...
