Cliché opening: Ubisoft certainly isn't taking a gamble on their newly announced sequel to their highly successful Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Standard exposition: Details are scant on the new project at this moment, but Ubisoft promises better graphics, new gameplay features and updated settings.
Intelligent reflection: Man, the original Rainbow Six Vegas sure was good. We know because we played it.
Quip: We're just happy Ubisoft isn't dumbing down the franchise with Rainbow Six Atlantic City.
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Announced [ign...who I just saw made a gambling allusion, which makes us making fun of ourselves all the sweeter]

I can't wait!! I love the first one, and I still play the hell out of it.
Please don't screw it up, Please don't screw it up, Please don't screw it up, Please don't screw it up.
Man, that was a fun game! I can't wait for this one. ;D
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!
OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES OH GOD YES
Forgive my outburst. I'm a little excited. I've stated time and again that R6: Vegas is my favorite game of all time.
@noisome07: Haha, I win.
Great game. It will be excellent to see an upgrade...supposing it will be.
I resent that statement, Mr. Wilson.
Rainbow Six Atlantic City would be Game of the Decade.
;)
I'm gonna have to make sure I get a 360 by next March, as the majority of my friends list played R6V until Halo 3 came out.
awesome news, hard to improve on such an already AMAZING game. go ubisoft montreal, GO. make it better, stronger, faster.
and please don't ditch the face mapping!
Why is he talking like HK47?
Impartial Observation: How nice for those people whom this affects.
Actually, R6: Atlantic City sounds like the perfect opportunity to get some of the GTA crowd in the game. Especially since pit-bosses named Guido would be far more formidable in that game than any terrorists in Vegas.
Yay, I sent this in... But yeah, it must be one of those Ubisoft games mentioned on Gamespot that were delayed to 2008 but were never even announced yet. I'm not sure what the quality will be like though what with it only being announced 4 months before it comes out.
Hell yeah, perhaps they'll finish the story this time! Online is awesome!
Ubi Soft continuing to innovate with another run of the mill sequel...how very unexciting.
I didn't enjoy the multiplayer because of all the camping but the single player was awesome.
I keep wishing that I could lead my teammates like RSV while playing COD4.
This is most delicious news.
I beat the game for both 360 and PS3. Don't ask how I have copies for both systems.
R6:V was a lot fun for months. Hopefully, this sequel will be just as good since it has became the frontrunner as my favorite tactical shooter over SOCOM. Looking forward to Zipper stepping up and delivering some good competition next year.
Biased statement: Does the world really need more Tom Clancy games? Except Splinter Cell, we could always use more of that.
I hope they keep the face mapping in too. I haven't used my camera since.
Generic comment, of which this thread will be full off: Great news.
Looking forward to it, just don't care for it being set in the same city..... After all the crap to happen in Vegas, kinda crazy to have terrorist strike again? And then the PSP version of R6:Vegas provided a side story of another R6 team takign on bad guys during Vegas main campaign.
Terrorist strike Vegas again or will they go with another side story? Another R6 team and perhaps conclusion to the story started in the first?
@Dragonzigg: Agreed, these games are getting to be like Madden, same stuff each time, may as well just slap an '08 on it.
I slipped on the floor...
Read as HK-47 for added affect.
@Marasai: GAH, you beat me to it!
Gee I wonder if everyone will play nothing but attack and defend in a prettier calypso casino. I had a lot of fun w/ this game for awhile, but it eventually became the same exact thing every time. A&D: Calypso Casino, sharpshooter in kill house or streets. Also I didn't really like the single player... but the co-op was a lot of fun on realistic.
Oh God say it isn't so... wait I played the damn game this was bound to happen.
Don't get me wrong the game was good, but it was far from awesome; I liked the customising weapons, and zipping around on ropes. But "tactical" combat in this game is pants, SWAT 4 didn't just do it better, it decided to beat it even more with Stechkov Syndicate. It may seem like snobbery but honestly, if you've played SWAT 4, R6V doesn't seem to come close to what SWAT can do.
@BTFzor_Freestyle: SWAT 4 is still PC game, once R6 hit consoles it went more shooter friendly for casual shooter fans.
As much as I enjoyed R6V, I would prefer seeing the next game somewhere else. Like an amusement park, sniping from a ferris wheel :)
Awesome. Rainbow Six: Vegas was quite good. Looking forward to another quality release from Ubi Montreal.
I think Rainbow 6: Foxwoods Indian Casino would be better than Atlantic City and Vegas combined.
I did have a blast on the first one, but what are indeed the chances of terrorists hitting Vegas twice. As it was already said, maybe Ubi is going for a side story here to the original.
Great game but..... I want a faster frame rate. After playing COD4 its hard for me to play anything less. And better graphics for the online is a must for me.
I highly doubt that the sequel
will take place in Vegas again.
Aren't the bad guys supposed to
go after Team Rainbow's families
in this one? At least that's what
the ending to Vegas hinted at.
I imagine a lot of
workplaces, homes, etc.
Maybe a mall, a la Dead Rising
would be cool. Probably a private
school.
ah man i just nutted
Schweet!
YES!
I would have been happy with new maps - the whole upgrade thing is just gravy.
K what? I think there needs to be a limit on how many numbers there are in a game... Rainbow 6: Vegas 2. Sounds like the scoreboard between some really messed up sporting event in Nevada.
@Sullyville: Probably NOT a private school...
I am a huge Rainbow Six fan (read the book and spent countless hours playing Rainbow Six: Raven Shield on the PC) but Rainbow Six: Vegas sucked. Any game that ends "TO BE CONTINUED" sucks (Quake IV falls into this category).
My other big issue with this game is your teammates said the same damn lines over and over. I wish Ubisoft could have taken the time to get more voice acting and a better story.
I will say the environment was beautiful and the weapons were great.
@Sullyville:
As a big fan of Rainbow Six in general... they had a kick-ass shoot out in a hospital that lead to a helicopter vs. car in the book. I don't think it made it to the first game.
My friend and I went through the co-op in like 1-2 days. Unfortunately, the graphics musta pushed my Xbox to the limit because it fried the GPU. I found it odd that Vegas killed my system when we had pulled 8 hour long Gears of Wars sessions before.
@Saint Anima: YES! and not because I live 12 mins from AC, but because I would love to see the terrorists mess with Trump's.. hair..err the animal that died on his head after being dipped in formaldehyde.
YESSSS!
TDunne: I also thought that the ending was a little lame, but come on- We're all in this for the (hopefully) sick multiplayer, aren't we?
Lol Rainbow Six: Atlantic City (Granny's Quarters Edition)
Why again wasn't this taken to another city?
Is there really that much left to do in Vegas?
Can't wait for this. Rainbow six vegas is one if not favourite shooter. Always preferred it over the GRAWs even though they are great games also. Love all the Tom Clancy games really.
@KilgoreTrout__XL:
True. Multiplayer deathmatch and co-op are really the best parts of a game (but I do like to torture myself with the single player and then complain about it).
To get me to buy this game (it is all about me) I need to *spoiler* kill Gabriel (not the like the weak killing of Irena Morales, I want to blow him up good!), ditch Micheal and Jung, and give me the "ground breaking co-op" hype in the announcement (how about some good old Halo type co-op ... yeah everything gets compared to Halo).
Its all about the Rainbow Six: London
I would only want a revisit to Vegas if ou actualy got to go into real Casinos. A shootout in the Bellagio or Ceaser's Palace would be excellent. Centering everything around Fremont Street--aka "where Las Vegas comes to die"--was a mistake.
Also, i would kill for some smarter AI. Playing splitscreen coop on the couch in Realistic mode is like taking down a mercenary army of third-graders. Even the normal AI allies in the single player campaign outclass most enemies by an exponential magnitude.
Is this going to be multiplatform upon release, or is it X360 exclusive at first?
