@cmonty06: You do know that various countries do use similar types of vehicles for mine clearance and such. It's actually not that over the top compared to telekenetic agents, vampires, force fields, etc.

On another note, I was sort of hard pressed on whether I should watch this trailer or the trailer for that Jessica Alba movie which happened to be right next to the MGS4 trailer...*sigh*. Was it Snake or Alba? I chose both....yes...

I don't know how I feel about machine wolfs and Dr. Octopus appearing, but we'll see.

I dunno... Something about this game just doesn't fit right, like it's straying a bit too far from it's predecessors. We'll find out early 2008 I guess.

I hope Sony compensate the hell out of Konami for this game. These trailers are the best marketing the PS3 has.

Kojima is always incredible and will continue to build buzz for himself and luckily for Sony, the PS3.

That could just be the most badass thing i have ever seen.The part where those guys get sliced in half,and the part where Dr Otto Octavius spears the guy with the tentacle.....simply amazing.

The movement of the octopus arms was very well done. Better than in spiderman 2. Of course spiderman 2 was shit but you get the idea.

If those 4 guys don't at some point combine to form some kind of voltron, I will be pretty bummed.

Why or why did they just ruin Metal Gear? I get that it plays into the whole "War has changed theme" but the bosses themselves? Lame, just like their names. Which while attempting to playing into the names of the first and third games, come off tacky.

Are MSG games just frustrating to watch and PLAY to anyone else? yeah, it looks amazing but man the dialogue is boring and i hate having to sit through 30 minute cut scenes. i hope msg4 is good because msg3 snake blowed, i couldn't stand the camera views. i even hated the original one on the NES only because it was so damn hard.

Nothing quite gets the juices flowing like the sight of some Ay-rabs being torn to shreds by superiour technology.

Once again, a member of the Metal Gear crew survives death by kind of hiding and peeking out. I thought it was bad when Raiden avoided Fortune's rampage by hiding 15 feet away, but this time it's even worse!
Giant wolves are knocking over cars, Dr. Octopuses are flying in the sky and Snake survives?

As for the boss designs... I liked the wolf... And I kind of liked the Shiva idea...

It looks good, but it just doesn't motivate me to play it. I liked the previous MGS games but I'm just not feeling this one yet. Maybe if Snake did more, it seems like all he's done so far is get a migraine and hide poorly.

I'm also kind of disturbed at the guy in the crowd laughing so heartily at some schmucks getting slaughtered, though I assume they deserve it at least a little.

So all of the people crying Doctor Octopus, you do realize that Liquid Snake had a similar getup in MGS 3 right?

@Witzbold: Solidus in MGS2.And hey i made jokes about that back then too.Personally i love that design,but I'm pretty sure even kojima himself made a couple of cracks about the similarities when that character was being designed

Well, this looks...well, yeah, wait for the official trailer. I want to know what's going on. The bosses for MGS have always been known for being insanely crazy and over the top-BUT, scientifically explainable. I cant wait to see the reason for Vamp's immortality.
I'm watching Doc Oc and Ravage *Transformers reference* running around, I kept thinking "How does any of this linked to Ocelot and Liquid?!" I'm sure Kojima, being the genius that he is, will make it happen.
You people who are saying that Metal Gear is ruined should watch your tongue. Kojima always comes through, so just watch.

Not to mention Liquid Snake was the guy from MGS, Solidus was the old guy with the katanas + extra "arms" on his suit. Another stupid mistake of mine.

I've never really played much MGS, so I'm not sure if this sort of thing is the norm, but those villains/heroes (?) made me laugh my ass off. Jojo the No-Faced Dogboy! Harvey Birdman! Doctor Octopus! Psychic Spider!
