So it looks like McWhertor and I have finally found some cosplay we can agree on. The ever traveling McW snapped this photo a few nights ago at BlizzCon and lo and behold the gal in the costume was the big winner of the whole BlizzCon costume contest kittencaboodle. I can see why she won, it's really quite impressive.
You can see some of the other contest entrants here and here.

she is pretty cute too.
How can you tell with that helmet on, heh?
I'm not one for cosplayers, but that is an impressive costume.
One question though: What is she supposed to be? I'm gonna guess that chick from StarCraft, but I may be (and probably am) wrong. :3
@mphz: Tier 6 warlock armor, the high-end raid stuff. [www.wowwiki.com]
There are no winners when you cosplay.
It's the painted sheet from a couple of days ago.
Wasn't she the one everyone was bashing for having 'painted on a sheet?'
@MangaDragon56: Haha yeah.. But she wasn't wearing the wings then! :P
I had no idea what she was supposed to be. Honestly, that head gear doesn't exactly bring out her good looks...
i dont see how she won...her outfit doesnt do the design its trying to copy any justice.
That outfit requires complex stitching and many layers of cloth and its just a lame flat dress with no dimension.
Not sure why she won. Oh wait... because she IS, in fact, a SHE. That's right. That headpiece is pretty much one of the ugliest things I've ever seen though, and she's wearing a spray-painted sheet... was this the best there was, really? Whatever happened to the silk-stitched tier 2 warlock from last year? He even had a hot succubus minion... I mean, girlfriend.
Anyone see the Blood Elf chicks who had their breastplates about 10 inches higher than they were supposed to be? Yeesh.
Doesn't matter how well any of them do it, most of you guys would still find something to complain about. Good thing they do it to make themselves happy.
@Ape.of.Gods:
Hahahahahaha, Well said.
That looks incredibly awkward to walk around in, was it put on just for a contest? If so, that hardly seems best worthy. The people out there walking around looking like this, they are the true *hero's!
*In this case Hero can be substituted with just about any insult.

@Melenor: IF I'm to believe what others have said, this chick IS the hot succubus minion from last year ;)
I choose you Croissantchu.
Croissantchu wants to learn shame,
but Croissantchu can't learn more than 4 moves.
Why she won: Because she is a she.
@Hoogie: Actually, if you look at the flikrs, there were several shes (and the video was funny of the blonde nelf jubbling about) This one just had a friggin amazing costume. Although I liked the warlock with the Voidwalker better :)
@Hoogie:
To quote World of Warcraft users: Cry more noob.
@dorylomorphs: Ah, okay. Not really my type, but thanks for the link.
I was there near the front with the Blizz staff, and she had a pretty amazing costume. There was another warlock there who I thought should have come in the top 4.. Basically what they did was choose 2 people from WoW, 1 from Diablo, and 1 from Starcraft. The WoW costumes were by far the best though, and I wish they had won.
As to the winner, I talked to her after the closing concert, and she was an amazingly nice person. She was telling everyone her game details and was just so happy to be there, just like the rest of us :).
Who are suprised... The only good looking armor set gotta win... LOL
Yes, the pattern she has is painted on a sheet. Why? Because that is what it is in the game!
All it is in-game is a blank robe design with a pattern painted on top of it. There is no actual dimension to it. That is why her costume is as good as it is. It most accurately depicts the outfit in-game.
@MaxSteele: Was finally waiting for someone to say this response.
Not to mention, the fact that she made that helmet, shoulderpads and wings makes it damned fine in terms of effort spent on the costume.
Of course she won, she's a Warlock and obviously overpowered. I smell a nerf coming next Blizzcon, which means Warlocks actually get buffed again thanks to Blizz' awesome game balance.
On a side note, holy smokes how did she walk through doors? Sideways I take it aye? I really like what they've done to force the perspective so they appear to be gnomes based on the armor's dimensions.
Wow! That costume is very impressive.
I just wanted to point out that the night elf wearing that green ivy -clothing, is in fact the pornstar August Night(she wore that costume in one of her movies). NO ONE SEEMS TO NOTICE THAT. I want my observation skills and knowledge (is this really good kind of knowledge?) to be noticed.
@ X99X: Yeah, she had to walk through the stage doors VERY carefully... She was the only contestant that had to exit the same way she came in.
Anyone get some shots of the Moonkin? S/he came in 2nd place, and that was a damn cool costume as well.
This is a bit of an aside, because I can't see her face (which statistically speaking is the first feature men look at in women, breasts being of course second,) but how many of the "hot" cosplay girls at Blizzcon are actual WoW players and how many are girlfriends/Blizzard hirees? I'm not saying that hot girls don't play WoW, and I have no problem with guys bringing their girlfriends along with them. But there have been other conventions where companies hired hot chicks to pretend to be just one of the cosplay crowd.
What do rogues and newbies both have in common?
They both pick locks.
@TheNino85:
Anyone competing in the costume contest was not a Blizzard employee/temp hire, or Blizzard employee family member. The two blonde blood elf girls with the matching outfits were models hired for the show, as were the mages with matching (and way outdated) outfits. Blizzard employees and family members (including wives and girlfriends) aren't eligible for any of the contests. So anyone pictured in costume up on stage was not hired for BlizzCon, or employed by Blizzard, or related to/married to/dating anyone employed by Blizzard. Anyone pictured out on the show floor might be an employee or family member, and anyone on the show floor looking horribly bored was a professional model hired to look hot. ;)
