Criterion and EA's run and gun Black is gold. The shooter, heading to Xbox and PlayStation 2 at the end of the month, has some of the slickest visuals imagineable on the PS2 and Xbox. With the Criterion team (Burnout makers) behind the FPS, I actually believe the hype when they say "taking it to the limit" rather than simply writing it off as PR tongues flapping.

I have to say, I checked out the demo on some mags demo disc. The graphics did look spectacular for a "last-gen" game. Wait, actually they looked pretty fantastic for a next-gen game as well. Can't say much for the story/gameplay since it only included one street to run up and kill the bad guys. While I hate EA, I think they'll probably be able to pry 50 bucks out of my pockets with this one.
I share okay's EA hate, but if this thing was coming to the 360, I'd be very interested. Why is it only coming to last-gen platforms?
Pix, I bet this was an elaborate enough game that turning it into nextgen gameplay would take too long. But who knows? I am looking forward to this one. Love first person shooters and this may be the last big title for the xBox.
I've played the demo too and thought the shooting and reloading animations took too long, much slower than most other FPS on the market today. It seemed like they were more interested in showing off the details in the gun then they were about providing an intense shoot'em-up experience. I got frustrated with the lag time and stopped playing the demo after 5 minutes. I hope this is fixed with the final release because I loved everything else about the game.
I thought the Black demo was horrible. Horrible enough to make me not want to pick it up on launch day. That doesn't mean I won't buy it... because I will... as soon as I know that the entire game isn't just more of the same. Here's hoping!
"Why is it only coming to last-gen platforms?" I expect it's because only a tiny number of people actually have a 360 at this point, and I bet pretty much all of them own either an XBox, a PS2, or both. Bigger target market = bigger dollars.
I watched an interview on the "1up show". The dev says EA is into innovation, and then slanders the PC. I suddenly have no interest.
