Clip: Bioshock Sees The Medic

OK, March is now Bioshock trailer month. That's official. The latest clip takes us on an idyllic tour of the city's medical facilities, and is spooky. So spooky I wet my pants. And not just once. It's once per viewing. And I've viewed it...more than once.

  • Is it a neccessity and requirement that all kotaku and other video game blogs editors/writers be wusses who can't handle scary stuff at all?

Granted it looked nice and very atmosphere but I didn't see one thing that would come close to scarying me. Hmm, what's the deal?

  • I like the "aesthetics are a moral necessity" graffiti, I have to wonder if thats a dig at other developers? It looks interesting, I'm not really a big fps fan but Bioshock definently has me intrigued.

  • Anybody know the release date of Bioshock for 360? I would buy it for the PC but I'm a sucker for the gamer points :p

    o'dium

  • pandaman@: it should do as there's a fair chance that it won't be an exclusively first person shooter of sorts. albeit leaning more towards the likes of deus ex and system shock 2.

well, thats my hopes anyway and they're both splendid FP-RPG's. i can't say i'm a generally great fan of FPS's either.

  • Mr Plunkett, you might have a urinary infection - I'd suggest buying some of those incontinence diapers that senior citizens use, cuz if that's a video, I'd hate to see what you actually do when you play the game...

  • I'm really looking forward to this game.

  • God, I wish I actually liked to play games like this. The game is too gorgeous.

  • This video is a bit of a let down after the last ones. It doesn't seem to really add much to the mood that they have already established.

  • I will probably be joining Mr. Plunkett in the urination zone once I actually play through that place. System Shock almost put me there, but it didn't have anything close to the creepy visual style that modern technology allows.

  • Every single Bioshock related thing makes my neck tingle with excitement. I want this so bad.

  • @BlindsidesDork: "Granted it looked nice and very atmosphere but I didn't see one thing that would come close to scarying me. Hmm, what's the deal?"

I think it's obvious that you simply possess an extraordinary amount of testosterone, making you capable of withstanding even the most terrifying situations. You sir, are a men among boys!

Or, you know, he was just kidding and doesn't actually urinate on himself at the site of a video game trailer.

  • am i going to have to buy a 360??? everything i see and read about this effing game has me poopin my pants with excitement. but will the 360 warrant the purchase?

  • @rluzinski: let's hope not!!! I mean the day just began, he would have to spend a long time in some soggy pants.

But I guess I do watch a lot of horror movies and such. I mean I didn't think 300 was that bloody.

  • The water effects are really impressive. The overall art direction is also.

It's hard to believe that this is running on the UE 2.5.

  • Man... My expectations for this game are so unreasonably high after all the delicious looking trailers. I really hope it can live up to them.

  • Is that "Aesthetics are a real Imperative" or "Aesthetics are a moral Imperative"? Either way, this game is going to be a must-have.

  • that ain't kreepy..
I see a lot of really nice looking textures and stuff, but they fake it all... :/

  • grr, these 30-second trailers - it's like giving a hungry man a single single potato chip. Sir, I am not satisfied - if anything, I have more appetite than before! Okay, that's actually the point of trailers, but I really do find that they get to the end of these clips, and I'm thinking "What? That's it?"

I loved the Hunting the Big Daddy clip because I actually felt like I was getting a bit of a feel for what the game's going to play like - as opposed to what it will look like, which is more what I'm getting from this.

Anyway, I loved System Shock 2, and I will be buying this promptly upon its release. . . then waiting for the kids to go to sleep so I can actually play it

  • Looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God, just take in the atmosphere of the game!

  • Most of the graffiti in the game can actually have references to the older games System Shock 1+2 .
