According to Gamespot's latest rumor control, the folks at Apple may be finally putting some non-rubbish games on the iPod. Or something. Details are scant at best, but according to a guy that knows a guy, former Lucasarts technical director Mike Lampell is heading up a iTunes group of "coders with a gaming background".
What does this all mean? Virtual console on the iPod? Mac users pulled from the depths of the gaming ghetto? Too soon to tell, but if we can let our imaginations run wild for a bit, maybe we iPod owners will have something to play other then Brick, Parachute and Solitaire: Ultra Frustrating Edition on our brand new video-playing, workout progress-recording MP3 players.
Apple (finally) getting its game on? [Gamespot]
