Todd Mitchell, from Kaufman Bros. Equity Research, has told investors that the success of the Wii and DS is bad for the industry. How?
Nintendo is dominating software sales on its popular hardware platforms, leaving the publishers with a smaller slice of an only somewhat incrementally larger pie.
Now I'm no Bud Fox (a failing which HAUNTS ME), but Todd, you might want to sit down for tea and biscuits with Ubisoft. They don't seem overly concerned with the Wii, or the DS for that matter. In fact, I'd say they're mildly pleased. Doubt Nintendo investors are that fussed either, come to think of it. Or anyone developing DS games.
