Eons ago, Japanese company am3 launched its "Advanced Movie" periph for the GBA, which consumers could use to view clips on their portable. It uses a rewritable Smart Media card for the downloads via vending machine.
Must admit, I have seen the vending machine loads of times, but haven't actually seen the machine, if that makes any sense. Why? Usually, they are positioned at a small child's eye level. It wasn't until my own kiddo happened upon on one that I actually looked at the vending machine up close and personal.
Besides a general capsule machine-like appearance, the machine has a slot for the Smart Media card. Best of all, there is a small screen that shows clips of anime like Crayon Shin-chan, hypnotizing anyone under four-feet. Adults that crouch are similarly vulnerable.
