Thanks to a wave of excellent game releases during the third quarter of 2007, Activision has reported their highest Q3 financial results ever. Brisk sales of new and old franchises alike made for net revenues of $822.8 million up from $816.2 and a net income that nearly doubled, leaping from $67.9 million to $124.8. Chairman and CEO Robert Kotick commented:
"During the quarter, we grew both the Call of Duty and Tony Hawk franchises and established two new franchises, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Guitar Hero. Strong launches for both PlayStation 3 in the U.S. and the Wii in the US and Europe, as well as continued consumer adoption of the Xbox 360 worldwide, suggests a great deal of momentum for next-generation videogame system adoption in the coming years.
It's great to see the first independent developer and distributor of computer and video games still going strong after all these years.
