Slapping an AO rating on Manhunt 2 seems to have given the ESRB a taste for throwing its weight around. No sooner have they barred Rockstar's title from release than they're taking 3D Realms to task for...displaying out-of-date ESRB ratings, and not providing proper ratings advice on its website. Shocking, I know. Rather than ask nicely, the ESRB decided to skip the pleasantries and get straight to the threats, demanding 3D Realms update their site within 10 days or face...penalties. 3D Realm's Scott Miller:
I think they came off like a school yard bully, rather than an industry partner. Why all the threats right off the bat? If the ESRB people know what was being said about them in underground channels, so to speak, they'd see that their antics have caused them much loss of faith as an industry leader.Didn't their mothers ever teach them their peas and fankyoos?
