New After Burner Revealed! *Does Barrel Roll*

1UP has an exclusive look at Sega's upcoming PSP arcadey jet shooter, After Burner: Black Falcon. As I spent a good portion of my pre-teens locked onto the arcade original, I was super psyched to hear about the game, especially after the orgasmically amazing After Burner Climax, Sega's recent arcade sequel.

The game is currently under development at Planet Moon, creators of Infected, the not-too-bad shooter for the PSP. I suppose that's okay, but here's what I find more troubling than Sega farming out the game's development.

Players can look for these touches in what Stevenson refers to as "a sprinkling of story and character development." [...] "We tried to go over the top and fun wherever possible," says project lead Ryan Kaufman. "The script, the characters and the story are appropriately breezy and entertaining."

Story? Character development? What in the hell? You know, I just want to shoot stuff at very high speeds and see 'splosions, guys. Don't come around these parts with your "fiction". Fortunately, it all gets much better after that, as the team talks up co-op play, plane customization, and lethal jets.

Interest: still high.
