Game Crazy is also hosting the Extreme GTA IV Experience at 10 locations scattered across the U.S., featuring prizes, limited-edition merchandise, and an exclusive GTA IV faceplate for the Xbox 360. Gamers attending the 'Experience' will also get a special text to win number that enters them in a drawing for two plane tickets to anywhere in the U.S. and $1,000 in mad money.
"New Grand Theft Auto games are always a huge event in the gaming community and this one is sure to be no exception," said Wes Sand, senior vice president at Game Crazy. "Rockstar has outdone itself again by making GTA IV completely immersive and interactive. Our customers have been eagerly anticipating this game's arrival. This is a launch they won't forget."

I mean, you're giving them money to buy a product in the future—one that is often in excellent supply (at least in the big chains). But we never knew that pre-orders mattered so much to small developers. Gamecock's CEO Mike Wilson (no relation) fills us in on why the best way to support a game can be to pre-order it:
It's a really huge deal in the industry right now...[Gamestop's] pre-order program, which they base their buys off of, is so important now. It's like life or death for some of these original, independent titles.

This is me playing the full game of super mario galaxy on wii 2 weeks of it's release date, I'm playing it at my local gamecrazy and they got a shipment of just the game, nothing else but the game in a zip lock bag. I plan on beating the game before the game actually releases.
As another tipster, VideoGamerJ, pointed out, Nintendo sent the full game to GameStop and GameCrazy retailers like the company did with Metroid. So we take that back: Don't hate reader Matthew. Retailing for S479.99 the sku shows a release date of May 1st of this year, which also happens to be my birthday (hint, hint).
