There were only 5,100 of them made and they were given almost exclusively to GameStop managers for an inter store sales promotion. I was fortunate enough to be gifted with not only one, but two of these little beauties by my local GameStop manager, one of which adorns my 360 at home and the other I gave to my best friend. I don't think the Xbox 360 needs a coat to stay warm, but Talismoon has come up with a range of faux fur controller faceplates. The $15 Wild Jungle faceplates come in leopard and cow prints and are guaranteed to make your console sweat. You can also buy the furry faceplates for the Playstation Portable, a slight more sensible idea. But what would have really made sense is a 360 faceplate for the console. Blue Dragon Faceplate To Slay Japan

This December, Microsoft is hoping, praying that Blue Dragon will spell Japanese hit. The company is releasing a special "Xbox 360 Core System Blue Dragon Premium Pack" on December 7th. Along with the game, an original faceplate will be included in the bundle. Pre-orders start on October 18th. The Hironobu Sakaguchi created game does have a good buzz, thanks to a strong TGS showing. Pavel Dolgov, who seems to quickly becoming the resident artist for Kotaku, just dropped me a line to point out that he's come up with a new, kick-ass Xbox 360 faceplate. It appears he's been following the commenting about his previous works and decided to put out a Master Chief faceplate. Dolgov also created two unique Halo-themed paintings, one's 16-inches-by-20-inches and the other is 8-inches-by-ten-inches. More »

While I like this piece, based on a painting he did of the Xbox 360 logo, I'd love to see some more variety from Dolgov. 360 Controller Faceplates

Lik-Sang got their hands on some very sweet looking (and warranty voiding) Xbox 360 faceplates. The faceplates require you taking apart your controller and replacing the front piece, but it sounds like it's a fairly straightforward procedure. The company has only released seven colors so far and none of them have interesting designs or pictures on them. There is, at least, a chromed out controller which looks pretty slick. And the things are only about $17, that's pretty cheap. More »
