This week's additions to Xbox Live Arcade keep the old school arcade action going, with a high definition remake of Discs of Tron, the second game based on the movie license. Can you hear the music? Those thirteen notes that sum up the movie Tron so perfectly should once again be hitting Xbox Live Arcade next week as Disney readies the arcade classic Discs of Tron for release next Wednesday. Not to be confused with the Intellivision title Tron Deadly Discs - the sole reason my first computer was an Intellivision Aquarius - TDD is the game that featured one on one disc battles versus a computer controlled Sark. The game comes in both standard and enhanced flavors, with the latter delivering updated graphics and sound. All this, plus four (sadly offline) multiplayer modes: Classic Versus, Speed Versus, Co-op, and Deadly Disc Versus. Great job Disney! Now go make us another Tron movie! More »

As we had pretty much figured out, Disney Interactive is bringing not only the premier digital bloodsport Discs of Tron to Xbox Live this summer, but also one of the world's earliest minigame collections, simply called Tron. Tron contained all the good bits from the movie except for the disc competition - light cycles, tanks, random electric spiders and the MCP boss battle. More »

As we noted earlier this week, the original Prince of Persia was rumored as an upcoming Xbox Live Arcade release based on the game's appearance on the German software ratings board. Today, the ESRB has added Prince of Persia Classic to their list of rated games for the Xbox 360, giving the game a T for blood and violence descriptors. More »
