My apologies to Charlie Gavin over at Blank Pixels. We had a conversation earlier today in which he said he knew when the Left 4 Dead demo was OTW, based on a tip he got from his corner shop, and I was real skeptical of the source. I should have done some homework, because it turns out his info is good. Reserving Left 4 Dead at GameStop gets you access to its demo early, from Nov. 6 to Nov. 11. The game drops Nov. 18, so my guess is anyone who doesn't preorder could see the demo about a week in advance of the full release. More »

Files: Extraction Point, the latter of which I really enjoy typing. PGR4 is fortunately available worldwide and weighs in at 1.27 GB, so clean your internet pipes for maximum downloadiness. Conan and The Simpsons Dueling Demos

Two new demos are ready for your downloading pleasure on an Xbox 360 near you this morning. First we have Nihilistic's Conan, not to be confused with the Funcom MMO Age of Conan, a single-player game that puts you in the furry boots of fantasy's greatest barbarian as he struggles against an elusive evil power, using weapons, wrestling moves, and magic for some god awful reason. If 483 MB of blood and gore aren't your thing, try 442 MB of fun and frivolity as Homer and Bart team up to take down Lard Lad in The Simpsons Game demo, sure to be chock-full of hilarious sound bytes that quickly become annoying after the third or fourth repeat. Just guessing there, mind you, as the demo is still slowly making it's way over the intertubes to my game box, and the PS3 kids seemed to like it when they got it last week, so who knows? PlayStation Store Update - Cocoreccho!

The PlayStation store updated today with a ton of new demos, trailers, and a whole new game that Kotaku's Michael McWhertor called "unbearably unenjoyable". That unfettered praise was of course for LocoRoco Cocoreccho!, the butterfly-powered LocoRoco game that is now available on the PSN for $6.99, a low price indeed for possible...suckage. *sighs* On top of the new game, there are demos galore, with Skate, NBA Live 08, Stuntman: Ignition and Sega Rally Revo all ready to be slowly downloaded for your demoing enjoyment. Top it off with a heaping helping of trailers from games like Devil May Cry, Ratchet and Clank, and GT5 Prologue and you've got a lot less hard disk space than you did before. Enjoy! More »
