DQ Offers Worst Ever Prize Replacement

Reader Shannon writes to tell us that Dairy Queen is holding a contest this week involving scratch-off cards. Among the rather spectacular list of prizes is a Playstation 3 (which DQ inexplicably values at $400). But if you read the fine print you see that Dairy Queen reserves the right to substitute the Cell-injected, blu-ray-playing, WiFi-enabled next-gen console with a Playstation 2 if stock for the new console isn't plentiful enough at the time the winning claim is made.

Wow, that would so suck. You win a Playstation 3, but when you rip open the box you see an old, slim friend waiting for you inside. The good news is that the contest ends on April 30, 2007, so I'd think PS3 stock wouldn't be an issue by then.

I did some digging and found the online site to play the contest, but you need to either go buy a Blizzard to get a code or write away for a code before you can try.
