The characters of Fable 2 are meant to be a reflection of the person playing them, to a point. The choices you make as you grow from childhood to adulthood in the game will change your character's appearance. But, your character is highly customizable. Lionhead Studios says they have tons more clothing to wear (all of which can be dyed), you can put on make-up, jewelry, change hairstyles, add facial hair. You can also morph your base appearance by tinkering with strength, how fat your character is, their skin type. The end result, Lionhead says, is billions of different characters.

Hit the jump to check out six possibilities. More »

Ok, not Build-A-Bear as such, but the idea of personalization and adding value because of the personalized nature. An opinion piece at Gamasutra on the issue of game piracy uses Webkinz and Build-A-Bear - and the continued decline of DRM in the music business - as a starting point to talk about what could be done to discourage pirating. Stuffed bears an answer to piracy? What? Well, it's all about the customization and personalization in the author's view. Fine for stuffed bears, but what about games? More »

Last weekend I brought you the colored Wii Nunchuck shells (lovingly dubbed Chuckii by it's creators at Extreme Enterprise) that will soon be available for customizing your Wii peripherals. Today, NDS announces a new nunchuck "color", Clear. Well, technically, "clear" isn't a color, but if you've ever felt the urge to see the inner workings of your nunchuck, now is your chance. The clear Chuckii shell will join the ranks of the other "clear" greats of our times, the clear neon telephone and the mother of all clear products, Pepsi Clear. More »

These makeovers aren't like the ones on ABC where inevitably someone's nose gets broken and remade in the image of the gods
these are for your PC and should be far less painful. The catch? Any recently purchased MGE PC case or external power supply (keep the original UPC code) entitles gamers to an XG Extreme Mod kit for free. There's LEDs, fan grills, lit performance fans, a 12-inch neon light, all kinds of stuff to pimp that ride. To redeem the kit, head to XGBox and fill out the form, include the original UPC and make your computer glow like a '94 two-door Civic. More »
