Counter-Strike's Zombie Chicken, In Action

Fact: Halloween is the best holiday.

As outlined in this video from Otoris, massively popular multiplayer shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is celebrating Halloween. Now, this shouldn't be confused with Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies, which is sort of a) always celebrating Halloween and b) terrible.

Foremost among the additions from yesterday's the Mask-erade update were, you know, masks (some from Team Fortress 2 and Payday 2) and ghosts of your fallen friends on the battlefield. Most importantly, though, this:

A Murder Most Fowl

BEWARE! For with all these treats, also come tricks. For too long the chickens of CS:GO have idly watched as their brethren were slaughtered by the droves, and on All Hollow's Eve there is no more room in Chicken Hell.

That's right: the Counter-Strike chicken—loved and loathed by millions, perhaps even billions, but probably not trillions because there aren't that many—is back from the grave. And if you shoot a zombie chicken, it will just re-emerge from the grave, so you better watch out, better not cry, better not pout and no wait wrong holiday.

It should be noted that this update wasn't just about cluck-ridden Halloween shenanigans. There's a list of gameplay tweaks as well, if you'd like to peruse that.

So yeah, zombie chickens and tighter-than-ever anti-terrorist action. That's peanut butter and chocolate if I've ever hard of it. Speaking of, time to go eat my own weight in miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. While dressed as a snazzy gentleman version of the skull kid from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Thanks, Halloween.
