<![CDATA[Comments from NessD12]]> <![CDATA[Comments from NessD12]]> <![CDATA[NessD12 commented on What Microsoft Did At E3 2008]]> @excel_excel: I think the Mgs series has some of the best plot. It's cheesey but it's a GOOD cheesey you know? It's well executed well told and has many actually surprising and unexpected moments and twists. It just genuinely keeps you interested not begrungingly playing like the "Hey we all grew up at the same orphanage!" moment in ff8

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on What Microsoft Did At E3 2008]]> @excel_excel: The plot isn't bad. But god they're HORRIBLY cheesey you can't say they aren't. Very poor execution and actual story telling i think

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on What Microsoft Did At E3 2008]]> @excel_excel: Yea they're so bad you definitely can't say people play them for the plot. FF8 was just ALOT of fun though. I'm getting it on my ps3 myself. I try not to buy to many 360 games after it broke my friends rockband

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on New 360 Dash "Reinvents The Console"]]> I for one hate those stupid blades. The ad's make me feel like i'm using Netscape again. The colors make me feel like i'm an Acidhead. And the fact it doesn't automatically detect your tv's resolution or have an option to do it at bootup or any way to do it other than going to display options? Oh and wait here's the best part about that for the "upscaling" being so amazing.... It doesn't freakin tell you when it's changed resolutions no confirmation it just does or doesn't do it not that you can't tell but it's just stupid why can't it detect the highest resolution like the ps3 does? Why does it have to make me pick is there ANY reason to run my console in a lower resolution? Why can i even select 1080p on a moniter? Then the fact my stupid 360 broke my friends rock band. That was really kind of it it's the only disc drive i've seen to physically scratch discs when i move it and i've been working on computers a long time i even have some old slot loading drives from back when they thought it was a good idea. Copying Xmb can only be a good thing. But i can't help but think they're doing it wrong. this interface looks ugly, And cluttered without having anything on it it isn't elegant they took the blades made the part of them that shows actual information have smaller text and be physically smaller on the screen then made my background get cut in half and covered up by things i don't wanna know because if i wanted to know them i'd be on that box. My dream interface for a console is this.
Every section has a button you can press like B X Y L1/Lb and all of that that you can press and will take you instantly to that section that you selected. With a select and back button and the joystick reserved of course. But doing it just like that with simple icons would be alot better than this crap. Seriously they tried to make something simple and failed. It's like some engineer or designer was thinking "Must.... Add....... bloatware..." or someone just couldn't help but install 20 different IE toolbars making the actual viewing space for what you actualy WANT to see have the least space. then when you try to compensate for that by putting up a custom background. Noo they cover it up by a grey to black gradient that's supposed to be "elegant" and put everything else you aren't actually using at the moment on the screen. It's like if i could only use 1/4th of my moniter but all my icons were on the screen at once! but i couldn't use the bottom half of my screen for icons. For it's reserved by the taskbar which is just an ugly gradient. Why doesn't microsoft just go back to making windows and mouses? I'd like a half decent laser intellimouse. i've been using an mx518 since mine's scrollwheel broke.

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Peter Dille Talks FFXIII Exclusivity, Seems Confused]]> @donquijote23: I'm sorry to tell you but have you checked any other sources besides the numbers you just pulled out of your ass? The 2 best selling FF's sold 9 and 4 mil. FF7 SHIPPED 11 million. Only 3 of the games acutally broke the 3 million barrier most stayed well below 2 mil. Mgs is a much better selling series overall even your only including 4 of the games and fake figures. Can you please try to get your facts straight before trying to argue?

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Peter Dille Talks FFXIII Exclusivity, Seems Confused]]> @The Karate Kid: I'm 14 and I like yelling!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111

What he's saying is that. While Gta and Final Fantasy are great and good selling games. They aren't the best Playstation had.

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Peter Dille Talks FFXIII Exclusivity, Seems Confused]]> @jfx316: That's exactly what i'm saying. With all of these proven ip's coming out 2009 and fucktons more of new ip coming out then insomniac pumping out games every year. I think the Ps3 has more noteworthy exclusives than the 360. I can't think of anything beyond halo that's truely exclusive. Gears is also on the pc. Viva is on the pc. Mass effect is on the pc. Bioshock is on the pc and coming to the ps3. Then with the trophy system ps3 is really shaping itself up to be a BETTER alternative

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Peter Dille Talks FFXIII Exclusivity, Seems Confused]]> @TakuFangirl: I'm sorry but... It's actually sold more than the FF series. As hard as it is to believe your games dont sell that well. The most recent iterations barely sold 2.8 million. The best selling one 7 of course sold 9.8

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Peter Dille Talks FFXIII Exclusivity, Seems Confused]]> @jfx316: He's saying this. Sony has LOTS of first party exclusives that are great titles. Final Fantasy while it has always been a great series isn't as essential to the playstation lineup as let's say Gt5 or Mgs4 is which are both going to end up selling shittons more than FF will exclusive or not. FF is not as big as Gta or even as big as Gt5 if you look at the numbers the Gt series has consistantly sold over 10 million while the final fantasy series. hasn't.

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Portal: Still Alive Is Portal + Free PC Map Pack?]]> @PositivelyJosh: Amazingly enouhg it probably is. On a pc NOTHIN is regulating valve. On a console? Well microsoft wants to charge you for ever little update. They're a company they aren't making a profit in the games division and a company is around to make money not to make friends. That's why live isn't free and that's why users are charged for themes. Because someone is gonna pay for even the little things and that means less bandwidth spent on them and more money in microsoft's pocket surpisingly enough. On a pc they don't have control over anything so they don't make money off you installing steam or playing online or downloading all of these map packs for portal. The only reason people think pc gaming is dead is because they haven't honestly and truely given it a chance. A computer capable of crysis at 720p on ultra high can be built for 320. Easy with all brand new parts including a nice case power supply and good brand graphics card. Then you can buy portal seperately and all of that or hell when you buy the orange box actually give half life 2 to someone who doesn't have it.
@RuneX21: Honestly very few new pc games don't support a controller when you plug it in and almost all pc games autodetect what your computer can run. You can't be that lazy to sit through a little install to play an all around better more polished experience

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Gradius ReBirth Gives WiiWare Some Options]]> @Mommar: Still they're just cashing in on the blast of nostalgia people got when they saw Megaman 9 realizing they didn't have to do this amazing remake like Bc Rearmed did. The point i'm making isn't nearly the same as what your trying to say it is. Gradius is a game that would benifit greatly from better graphics where megaman doesn't to much because of it's style. I'd rather actual remakes like Rearmed then more companies pulling stuff like this. And gradius is far from a simple shump.

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Gradius ReBirth Gives WiiWare Some Options]]> @WordMan: Why play THAT. When you can play a mans shump. Perfect Cherry Blossom. People bitch and whine about microtransactions and cash-ins then take stuff like THIS. Soon enough we're going to be flooded with this crap when stuff like Fraxy has been around on the homebrew scene and the free remake of turrican is leagues ahead of most remakes coporates put out. Sure nosglatia is good but the graphics just look like they limited themselves here rather than gave them away for style like Megaman 9.

That's what a next gen shump should look like. Not that]]>

<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Mega Man 9 IS Coming To 360, PS3]]> @ChadWardenn: How was 8 the worst? Seriously. It looked good had good level design fun weapons.

@Zerbrechen: Think of it this way. The higher a game gets in complexity the harder it is to make it good. Some things can be so deliciously simple but have myriads of strategy behind them. Chess. You wanna know my 2 favorite games? Doom and Ikaruga. I love simple fast paced no-fuckinground games. When a genre is stripped to it's bare simplicity it's ALWAYS at it's best. When you make it over complicated it becomes difficult to manage and maintain the same quality. Imagine this do you play better with a 5 string guitar or a 12 string? In case some people were lacking points for these simple graphics being better than more complex ones that's one. But on the other hand if we didn't move up to more complex titles we wouldn't have the MGS series always pushing limits and being as unique as it is. Or games like Morrowind and Oblivion or hell Fallout. There's a reason i play pen and paper rpg's. This game would not be right with such simple gameplay and great animated sprites. It wouldn't feel the same. As graphics have evolved so have platformers look at the Sonic series. Some games have manage to keep the same simplicity but make the transfer to 3d elegantly like Mario did. I have to tell you guys the art of game design is difficult and by limiting themselves like this they aren't tempted to do something like Sonic Heroes.

]]>
<![CDATA[NessD12 commented on Mega Man 9 IS Coming To 360, PS3]]> @relic1980: umm why does EVERYONE say that everyone believes that graphics>gameplay. Seriously i have yet to hear one person say that that's true? Honestly nail in the coffin? Was there ever a body?

Now i'm a firm believer that 8 was the best megaman. I have it it's the shit. I also have most of the other megamans and i put x5 as second. While the 8-bit thing is kind of a cool novelty i would prefer mm8's art style rather than anything serious.

And depending on the game. Graphics do > gameplay. Some games just entirely revolve around being pretty to look at and fun to watch art direction and quality of art is massively important and seriously underated in a games importance. Would you enjoy oblivion nearly as much without audio and looking like Adventure for the atari does? I wouldn't.
