Khabi commented on Uwe Boll A Bit Upset About Postal @Guizzy:
I'm more then willing to believe there are people who are going to like the movie. I made up my mind on the movie when he showed his preview last year. I'm completely admitting I didn't see the whole movie (only a small part of it), so I didn't see any of the scenes you're talking about.

I try not to be a film snob. Really, I try to appreciate movies for what they do right rather then what they do wrong, but from what I saw there was just so much wrong that I couldn't appreciate any of that movie.
I can even appreciate the movies that are just horrible (my Shark 3 reference, most B movies, old old kung-fu movies, etc etc). Once and awhile tho there are movies that I just can't stand, this being one of them (Borat was another, I absolutely REFUSE to watch it).

From what I saw:
Shark Attack 3 > Postal

By the way, best part of Shark Attack 3 is that they have like 15 minutes worth of footage of them putting that damn boat in gear. They feel like every time the boat starts to move they have to show them moving the trottle.

oh.. and the shark Moos!

Khabi commented on Uwe Boll A Bit Upset About Postal I was at PAX last year when he was the 'special' guest. He showed a preview of Postal. I only made it about a minute into the preview (I'm not sure how long it was) before I had to walk out.

It wasn't because I was offended, it wasn't because I hate Uwe Boll, it was because the movie was pure shit. I'm not saying it was just overall bad. The script, the acting, the directing were all crap. Really, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle had better plot development then the part I saw.

Its not that I can't enjoy a cheesy movie, I watched my fair share of bad movies. But if the PREVIEW selects the best parts (it should to make you want to watch it) and you don't like it, then I really don't think there is much hope for it.

All this is coming from someone who purposely watched Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, look it up on youtube).

Khabi commented on SOE's Agency, Free Realms To Support Real Money Trading and all that hope I had for this game just went down the the microtransations shitter. Really, If they had said the game costs $XX.XX per month, I would have been fine with it. When they start saying "The game is free, but you have to fork out cash for the cool stuff" i have a problem with it.

I've tried other microtransaction free MMOs, and truthfully I hated them all. Its much more staisfying when that armor you want, or that weapon drops from something you just killed then just going and buying it.

As it is, SOE is out my $60 for the game now.

Khabi commented on Mirror's Edge In Motion I find it funny, people always whine and complain about developers not taking any risk, someone tries and takes a risk and people complain that its not like the other games.

Baby steps people, while the first person isn't 'PERFECT' its damn damn good looking. You want a perfect first person experience, you need to go buy a helmet with almost 200 degrees of viewable area around your head. How do you end up getting something like that? Someone takes a chance and creates something like this first.

Personally, I really like the feel of it. The future (if going by the past is any example) gets cleaner and cleaner, who's to say the future enviorment couldn't end up being squeaky clean? I personally like the idea of it. Yet again, tho its different.

And finally a main character who isn't "OMG HOT!!!111oneone". She's average looking, and personally I dig that. I've played the big tittied heroine, I've played the giant buff guy with super powers. Whats wrong with playing as a semi-normal person? In truth, none of the stuff she's doing is out of reach of someone who has done gymnastics or even martial arts ( a little emblished maybe), so there really is no reason the main character has to be some kind of super hero.

I just find it funny. "That game does nothing new!!!111oneone" vs "That doesn't do things like the rest!111oneone". Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't, I kind feel sorry for developers. :/

Khabi commented on DBZ Burst Limit - Trunks Vs. Recoome I really liked the 3D games more then how this looks. The 3D ones were a bit hard to get used to, but once you did they played really well.
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 played like a champ once you got to grips with all the dashing and comboing attacks together. It just seems much more fluid then this one to me.

Its probably just me here, but Dragon Ball in 2D-ish just doesn't seem right. :/

Khabi commented on Activision Denies Infinity Ward CoD Exclusivity So here is my question? Does Activision own IW, have some kind of stake in the company, or are they just the publisher?

Assuming they're just the publisher and they don't have some kind of legal agreement w/ IW that keeps this from happening... IW could really just say, go eff yourselves, and create a new IP based around war (face it the war FPS story line is generic and a dime a dozen to make) and cut out the middle man. All they need is a new publisher, and after sales of CoD4 I bet they would be beating them off w/ a stick.

Its a wining situation for IW. They get their own IP and don't have to pay any kind of licensing fee. Get to create a new group of games that each year will live up to their quality, and the fans get to know the next iteration won't be total crap.

Khabi commented on First GTAIV Multiplayer Screens? @wild_world_girl: You're right about art direction, but I don't think thats what he was getting at. More the point that the graphics suffered because of the multiplayer.

But yes, it always bugs me when people say X is better then Y because of how it looks when the two really don't even apply to each other. Halo 3 Vs Gears for example. Two different art directions, even if both were *somewhat* grounded in reality.

Khabi commented on First GTAIV Multiplayer Screens? @liquid_kore:
My guess is its an overhead issue. Gears loads the entire map at once, when it doesn't do that, its able to figure out where you're going and preload the textures.
In a sandbox like this (assuming the mulitplayer is the same same full size area as the single player. *I don't follow GTA, never been a fan so I don't know), there are many places where a character *could* go, it makes preloading textures harder. Trying to load those textures as full res may put more load then is needed and cause suttering when dealing with a net connection.

The point I'm getting at is that, its never a simple as it seems to get complicated things like a networked game running. There are always tradeoffs of visuals vs performance. The more Performace the less visuals and likewise.

I work with computers for a living, they can be a tricky beast.

If you think that him getting attention on a site that he is on a 'crusade' against is going to give him any more publicity then you're delusional. Do you think he goes around going "YO! Check it! Was sitting at home one day saw an old couple walking down the hall and turn and go in my bedroom. Once I got in there to see what was going on the room was empty. When I say young tho I was under 10, so now-a-days I just rack it up to being a little kid. Don't necessarily believe in ghosts, but I don't rule out anything 'ghost-like' either.

Khabi commented on Is This The New PlayStation Store? No. Even if it *was* official, its still no good. The problem with the store as it is now is that its almost completely freaking impossible too find what you're looking for.
They give you these subsections, that are only partial subsections. For example (this might be a bit off as I don't have my PS3 handy), if you go into the games section, it doesn't list the games by categories right off the bat. The icons for that are on like page four, with three pages of 'check this out' content. God forbid you want to download a theme that isn't on the front page, good luck finding it half the time.

I have no problem with 'featured content', but the PS store wants to have *ALL* of their content featured. At that point there is no need for it at all.

Then there is after you put an item in your cart. You can't just add it and keep looking, they break the flow, take you to a cart page, then once you've confirmed you want it, they take you back to the main page again, not to where you were last. Hence forcing you go try and navigate this perverbial maze again to get the next thing you wanted. I do like that they make you buy everything in one go, because that with the actual dollar amount lets you realize that maybe you don't want to spend that much money all at once.

While I'm on my rant, get rid of the damn mouse pointer. I know you want to give freedom, but trying to navigate a mouse pointer with a game controller is damn near impossible. Give it a logical layout so that you can use the simple dpad to get where you want to go.

But really, their 'store' would be laughed at even 5 years ago when buying stuff on the internet was less streamlined.

I love my PS3, and have purchesed maybe $50 worth of content from the store (rock band mostly), but everytime I have to go into that store a little piece of me dies inside.

Khabi commented on THQ Creative Director Rants On Piracy, Death Of Iron Lore I'm sorry, pirating games is bullshit. That being said, if you had found me in my teen years, I have done a complete 360 from then. So yes, this is coming from someone who *used* to pirate games.

The people who say they try it before they buy it are mostly damn liars (Same normally goes for the mp3 pirates too). At the point where you actually have something most people will not be willing to go out of their way to aquire it again. People are lazy by nature.

The cold hard facts are that the people who pirate these games ARE hurting the industry. You can live in your little delusional world all you want and deny it while rocking back and forth in a dark corner somewhere. If you don't believe think about the pure amount of PC releases in the past to today. There have been a big drop in releases between then and now. Take a guess why.

The fact is people having a damn entitlement complex now. They think they have kind of reason why they should have something. Either 'its too expensive', 'they make too much money on it', or some other inane reason.

DRM isn't going anywhere. Games used to not have them, piracy existed. They added it, piracy existed. The only thing that is going to happen is the DRM is going to get more and more strict. The people who are pirating the games and directly responsible for it.

Khabi commented on Logitech's New Gran Turismo Wheel Is Terribly Official I'm actually surprised that so many people here like the idea of a clutch. For a long time its bugged me when playing driving games clutchless (looks agrily ad the Inital D arcade game).
For the most part when I talk to my gamer buddies and say I drive a manual they're response is along the lines of "Why the hell would you drive a manual, automatic works just as well and is easier". So I pretty much just assumed most gamers are the 'automatic type' and wrote myself off as a freak. :)

So here's my question to anyone that may have the G25, does it work resonably well with things like heal-toe downshifting, or is the clutch more of a 'toy' as far as the game is concerened?

Khabi commented on Child Demands Pokemon At Gunpoint Beating your kids to a bloody pulp = wrong
Smacking sense into your dumbass kids = good parenting

Seriously, I've never gotten the concept that you shouldn't spank your kid. As a kid, when I screwed up I got my ass beat. I didn't do it again, and I made better choices afterwards. Kids understand consequences, and a sore ass is near the top. :)

@Maximus9:
But they didn't even have a real gun. They had an airsoft gun, you can get that online for like $20. Thats like blaming a squirt gun on real gun violence. It was still a stupid idea to bring it to school tho.

Khabi commented on New Street Fighter IV Pics At Famitsu @cdr: I actually really like the style, I just think it needs a little bit more refinement.

Example - Chun-Li hands are off.. they gave her 'man hands', seriously, looks like she can palm a basketball with them.

Example - Face contortions on Ryu / Ken. It just looks.. weird. Its hard to place it on any one thing.

Those are small problems tho. I bet they'll be hard to notice during actual gameplay tho.

Khabi commented on Cheap Ass Gamer Collecting Games For Troops @vacax:
You a bit a of douche, you know that?

On a side note, doesn't it seem kinda fucked up to send the guys over in Iraq COD:4 or pretty much any war game? I'd be willing to donate a new copy to them if I knew they actually *wanted* it.

"Taste: Strange. I have tasted this before but I cannot quite place it."

Seriously, I thought the same thing when I had it the first time. I figured out what it was the next day. Liquified Nerds Candy.

Seriously, go buy a pack of Nerds, and try the drink.
Thats litterally why i love that drink so much.

Khabi commented on PX-3600, The Official Bestest Console In The World @dunetiger:
My guess.. some kind of video game :P

Seriously tho, assuming its cheap, I would buy one just for the laugh factor. Replace my roommates xbox with that one night, and listen as he tries to figure out wtf it is.

Khabi commented on Parappa Team Creates Major Minor's Majestic March I love off the wall random games as much as the next person. But really conducting a marching band of animals that that are likely to give you cavities?

I've done the whole marching band thing in high school (keep the one time in band camp jokes to yourself :) ), while an okay, and mostly fun passtime in highschool, I'll have to pass on Video Game version.

Don't get me wrong. I love rythem games, I own all the guitar hero's (besides rocks the 80's) and rock band. But have you ever watched a drum major in a marching band? For the most part, they just mark time with their hands to keep everyone in sync.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what they come up with here, but my first impression.. meh.

On a side note, if they wanted to go with the cutesy animal marching band, they should license the happy tree friends characters. I would totaly buy "Happy Tree Friends: Marching Band Massacre". Flippy + Trombone = 100% pure awesome.

Khabi commented on More Evidence Duke Nukem May Actually Be Released @OpiZA:
Are you really saying you want Duke Nukem to have substance? Really?

People seem to forget, this is Duke Fucken Nukem. You're not going to get a deep plot with a well thought out backstory, or some oscar award winning writing. This is a game where aliens come to steal the worlds supply of babes.

Its just supposed to be a fun and silly take on action hero's from the 80's. Don't go in expecting anything more then that.
