<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on LittleBigPlanet Devs Talk PSP Plans]]> The interesting thing is that they're starting to follow a route Nintendo made long ago with Gamecube-Gameboy Advance connectivity.

I'm truly surprised that Nintendo isn't taking advantage of this. The potential for a new Four Swords Adventures is completely through the roof considering how popular both the Wii and DS are now.
It pleases me to see Media Molecule thinking about these kinds of possibilities. However, I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd feel a lot better if they DID think of something concrete, rather than play theoretical-footsies.

Imagine for a moment, an optional level in Little Big planet that requires you and your friends having PSPs. You have a grand puzzle on your television, and chambers to go into, and every player has to figure out a little mini-puzzle on their own to piece together how the whole grand puzzle works. The playstation 3 could stream a video feed of what's occuring in the mini-chambers to individual PSPs, so that the PSPs don't have to do much processing leg-work. My biggest gripe with Four Swords Adventures was that the graphics, effects and animation took a notable drop in quality when the gameplay shifted to the GBA. Having the PS3 process the visuals and everything else could eliminate that problem.

Or maybe they could come up with a small application that you install on your PSP that, rather than take up valuable memory stick space, lets you choose what assets you want to upload and carry around with you, so you could go around and create custom backdrops, or level features, or perhaps meaningless decor that you would rather not spend time in your living room designing. I'm not sure how capable the PSP is in actually emulating the physics that LBP puts out, but I'm sure it's capable of something decent.

As for creating a seperate game for the PSP... I dunno. I think it'd be infinitely better to make the PSP purely supplementary to the entire experience. But that's just my opinion.

I sincerely hope they do go through with the connectivity idea, because the potential for it is undeniably awe-inspiring.

P.S. in case you were wondering. Yes, I DID make up "Theoretical-footsies" and I have absolutely no idea what it means nor am I convinced it even fits into context.

<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on BioShock For PS3 Goes Gold, Demo Hits Thursday]]> steam had the game going for a meager 15 bucks just a few weeks ago, I bought it then.

A week later, the PS3 version is announced. I'm not sure if I'm angry or not.

The in-before comments at least have some sort of wit involved. Sometimes. Don't flame me :(

<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on "Milk" Squirting Comes To The Nintendo DS]]> @The_Foo: You're either extremely good at making shit up, or copied and pasted an article from Wikipedia, and switched up some key words.

Either way, I'm too lazy to check.

]]>
<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on "Milk" Squirting Comes To The Nintendo DS]]> This is FAR too suggestive. I can't believe they're getting away with releasing this on the super-family-fun DS. But remember Toki Doki? That game was nowhere NEAR perverted. I never actually played it, I just heard from the ways of the interwebs. Good be the same story here. Screenshots suggest that every tap on a girl is a different orgasm. But in reality, she'll scream something like "MIRIKU!!" or something extremely off-putting.

Five bucks says that it's a "CONDENSED" version of the "MILK" that's in our heads.

Yeah, okay, that was terrible.

<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on New Banjo-Kazooie Video Shows Upcoming Industrial Goodness]]> Sure the gameplay was pretty, but my GOD. That music was like, my childhood memories of the music in Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, but evolved a hundred times over. I don't own a 360, but I'll sure as hell pester my friends to lend me theirs so I can play this. I didn't even think I'd be remotely interested in the game until I heard that music. Why the music? Why?

<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on The Expert Bias: Reviewing for a New Culture]]> You know, they really bring about a good point. Considering that the core audience for things like the Wii and DS are far greater than that of the hardcore gamer, it's never dawned on me that reviews for games for these people would be skewered by the judgement of game reviewers.

Now that the point has been brought up, I would personally love to see the editor's take on the game, plus give the game to someone else (Not another editor) and let them go hands-on for about an hour or two and see how they feel. Chances are that the casual gamer won't invest nearly as much time and energy into a videogame as someone that frequents this site, for example.

]]>
<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on Playing to Perfection in Mirror's Edge]]> I enjoy the visual style quite a bit, and I'm also quite fond of the first person perspective (to everyone saying that it needs a third-person perspective, go play Assassin's Creed or Prince of Persia) and the main musical score that was featured in the trailer was stuck in my head for a week straight.

My only concern is how the game will remain fresh later on in the game, and also how quickly and context-sensitive you have to be to pull off moves like running up a wall or sliding under something. Wouldn't be such a big concern if it was in third person but the fact that it's in first-person brings about a slight worry that things might get a bit tricky.

Ah well, even if they do, I'm sure you'd just get used to it.

<![CDATA[Ichidou commented on PSP: 10 Million Sold (In Japan)]]> @KaneTaker: I heard dead head fred was pretty interesting, so I checked it out. Definitely some excellent writing.

Other than that, you have games like LocoRoco and Patapon, to games like Crisis Core and Monster Hunter.

There's plenty of good shit. The only thing is that the system is seriously lacking in some good RPGs. Crisis Core was hardly an RPG, and everything else is either a remake or a spin-off of something else
