Earlier this year, Raptr ran a competition where famed case modder Brian Carter would produce a custom PC based on either Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3. He eventually went with the latter. Do this, and you'll never have to complain about your Wii having no games to play ever again. Course, you'll also have voided your warranty. Actually, you'll have voided your entire Wii, since it's now nothing but a case for a <strike>loud</strike> VERY LOUD PC, but hey, some people will go to great lengths to make a point about the Wii and its supposedly limited uses. Pic of the guts (and the loud vid) after the jump if you're keen. More »

The premise is simple: take one NES cart, one NES, empty the working-bits from the NES, empty the NES cart, put the working-bits from the NES and squeeze them into the NES cart. Insert actual NES cart into NES cart NES, plug into TV, play Mario. Easy. It's the slimline NES we would have had if old Nintendo ever pulled a new Nintendo and released a slimmer, smaller NES, then released it in limited-edition, themed variants. More »

Wow. I have a thing about PC case mods, I think they're cool as hell. So I'm always looking around for them, just because I like checking out the details and seeing how they were made. I have seen case mods that glowed, had moving parts, looked like robots and any manner of other things, but this one really leaves all of those in the dust. The CompuBeaver was created by artist, Kasey McMahon , using an old piece of beaver taxidermy and yes, it really works. The foam insides were hollowed out and the eager beaver was tricked out with all kinds of gadgets and computerfied goodies including: More »

Last weekend I brought you the colored Wii Nunchuck shells (lovingly dubbed Chuckii by it's creators at Extreme Enterprise) that will soon be available for customizing your Wii peripherals. Today, NDS announces a new nunchuck "color", Clear. Well, technically, "clear" isn't a color, but if you've ever felt the urge to see the inner workings of your nunchuck, now is your chance. The clear Chuckii shell will join the ranks of the other "clear" greats of our times, the clear neon telephone and the mother of all clear products, Pepsi Clear. More »

NDS-Central, creators of the sweet SHOCK DS Lite case mods are working their customization magic again, only this time, it's for the Wii peripherals! First up in the new line of mods is Chuckii, custom shells and controls for your Wii Nunchuck. The shells come in five colors: red, yellow, black, navy white with custom black buttons and thumbstick. Not exactly sre why you would want to purchase the white one, but hey, to each his own. Next week will see the release of similar shells for the Wii remote and one would assume at some point, a case for the Wii itself. You can see more detailed shots of the Chuckii shells on the company's Flickr Gallery. Flynn De Marco More »

With some folks running into DS Lite crackage, now might be a good time to consider your options. Take this Shock! casemod, for example. Just gut your portable and put it in this clear plastic DS Lite case, on which the good taste jury is out. Or rather, don't. Cracks or not, the part of the Lite's appeal is the glossy color of the original cases. Brian Ashcraft <a href="http://kotaku.com/199637/a-clear-answer-for-crackage-the-see-thru-casemod" title="Click here to read more about A "Clear" Answer For Crackage: The See Thru Casemod">More »

Eliza put out a call, and reader Chris answered. Unfortunately. Here is the ugliest DS case mod on this planet Earth. This oddly duct-taped DS was created by altometer1337 (oh, boy), a member of the Pocket Heaven forums. As soon as he finished wrapping his portable in duct-tap and coloring in the DS symbol with ball-point pen, altometer1337 posted this on Pocket Heaven, where everyone with eyes declared this case mod as truly hideous. Note that altometer1337's post signature is: More »

Although the DS Lite on its own is obviously a lot more aesthetically pleasing than the original DS's more bloated, vaguely Soviet looking design motif, one interesting side effect of everyone replacing their old DSes is the sudden explosion of cool DS case mods we're seeing. Like this Koopa Troopa shell, designed by Penny Arcade forumer Kouri. More »

There's nothing that says "Call the Bomb Squad to my house" like a PC case mod that looks like it should come with its own Presidential Football. GamerCircle stumbled upon this sweet WMD Part II case mod which includes such spiffy features as a LED countdown timer and a keypad for typing in the deactivation code. —Brian Crecente More »

Bit-Tech has a walk-through for another amazing case mod.
