Wow, just wow. You are looking at the box art for Japanese Wii title Captain Rainbow from developer Skip. The game follows Nick, Captain Rainbow's alter-ego, who's no longer popular as he used to be and goes to Minmin Island in hopes of becoming popular again. There his path crosses with other characters from Nintendo games like Punch Out's Little Mac who wants to become a great fighter again and Super Mario Bros. 2's Birdo who wants to pick up dudes. Oh, so the side of the box, it reads: "This is not a cool hero game!" Next to that: "Calmly read in detail the explanation on the back!" Under the game's logo, it says "Please Turn Over" in a phallic speech bubble. Rather polite. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5039222/captain-rainbow-says-please-turn-over" title="Click here to read more about Captain Rainbow Says, "Please Turn Over"">More »

Not confirmed, but Nintendo-centric Japanese blog Rambing Man has a street date for Wii Music: The game will apparently be released on October 16th for ¥5,800 (US$54) as part of the Touch Generation Series and will have Wi-Fi. Other details floating include a Japanese release date for Captain Rainbow (August 28th for ¥6,800 or $63) and Valkyrie Profile DS (October 2nd for ¥5040 or $47). Oh, new Wii-mote straps, too. Make that new, colored Wii-mote straps. Priced at ¥300 a piece, they'll come in white, pink, blue and green. All four will be available for ¥1,000. Those will be out this September, says Rambling Man. More »

Captain Rainbow Continues to Defy Belief

In case you missed it, Captain Rainbow is an upcoming Wii title, the next game from Skip, the guys behind Chibi Robo. A few weeks back, we caught the game's first trailer, starring Birdo, and were all double-u-tee-eff. Now, though, it's been lovingly translated (here, if you're interested), along with the game's second trailer, which features another Nintendo star, Little Mac. Who's, uh, not so little anymore. Birdo's above, Little Mac after the jump, but a word of warning: you'll still be all double-u-tee-eff. More »

This is Captain Rainbow, for the Wii. Know that aside from the name and platform that we don't have a clue what's going on. Know also, however, that this looks awesome, and also that this is from Skip, the guys who did Chibi Robo, so whatever is going on, will probably be bound to both entertain and under-sell! More »
