Why The PSP is Dead

pspbubblebath.jpg

Things aren't good in PSP-land says an article titled "R.I.P. PSP" over at the Gameworld Network. The five-page piece takes a fairly balanced and detailed look at why it's game over for the PlayStation Portable. Here are the main points:

  • It's expensive to develop games for the PSP.
  • Load time is slow.
  • No good games.
  • UMD is dead as disco.
  • It's pricey.

The article also points out good points like that the portable is a fab homebrew device. Moreover, there are rumors that Sony could be offering a price drop and over 7,000 PS1 games to download. And besides, if you are going to game in a bubble bath, you're better off with a PSP.
