I'm terribly disappointed that I didn't know Wiimbledon was happening until it was too late. Especially since Barcade where the event was held (also home to the infamous Kotaku NYC party) was a scant ten minute subway ride from where I was staying, but ah well, guess you can't make everything.

Fortunately for all of us, Geekanerd.com there to catch all the action for us to enjoy today. If you haven't figured it out by now, Wiimbledon was a competition with teams going at it to see who would come out on top after a day of Wii Tennis. From the looks of the photos and video, a good time was had by all, with our friends from Geekanerd coming in second place. Top honors went to Ol' Rusty Bastard from team Wii-Tang Clan who was sporting a Mario costume for the event.

Talk is already circulating about a Wiibledon 2, so now may be the time to gather your best Wii tennis players together and start practicing. And keep your ear to the ground for a possible WiiGA Tour coming to a town near you. Flynn De Marco
