OK, gang. I think the fun is over. Many of you pointed out that the Golden Lancer for Gears of War 2 is now either 99999 points or won't download. I tried to cue it up again and got the can't-download notice. Then the lancer was stripped from my hard drive. But I showed them!!! I put it on a memory unit before logging in!!! Which means if I ever want to play Gears with my ill-gotten gun I'll probably have to do it offline, if that even works. My bad, I think I might have selected "move" rather than "copy." The gold lancer is indeed on both my drive and my memory unit, logged in, with no ill effects. Anyway, the early copy of Banjo, is now 99999 Microsoft points. Ditto anything else we mentioned here. I think we can consider the great Banjo Lootathon over. Everyone take a bow, we helped Microsoft work out some kinks in a new feature. Although, don't expect any thank-you notes, I'm sure. Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is the third proper console entry in the Rare-developed series, founded on the Nintendo 64, one that steers the former action-adventure platformer into new territory. Microsoft has announced that Rare's original Nintendo 64 platformer Banjo-Kazooie will be showing up for purchase on Xbox Live Arcade on November for 1200 Microsoft points. The game has been updated with with requisite achievements and mysterious graphical upgrades, which I certainly hope amount to more than bars on either side of the screen. Fans who don't want to wait quite as long will be able to pre-order the 360 entry in the series, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, for a code that allows them to download the original for free two weeks before it goes live. Microsoft has launched a new website for Rare's new entry in the Banjo-Kazooie saga, coming eventually to the Xbox 360. Simply a teaser site at the moment, the spinning puzzle piece in the middle of the site cycles between the words "Coming Soon" and a picture of Banjo in all his bearish glory. The website requires you download the Microsoft Silverlight plugin to view it, though currently you aren't really missing much if you don't. The lads at Rare seem to be taking the piss (am I doing it right?) in their new Christmas card, which not only features Viva Piñata stars Hudson Horstachio and Fergy Fudgehog alongside Banjo and Kazooie, but a teaser stocking that reads "KI3." Kotakuite MrMessyHair (my new favorite handle) sends in this Banjo Kazooie cake lovingly crafted by hand by his sister for his birthday. It took a few minutes for my bleary mind to wrap itself around what it was seeing, but once it did it was awesome. It was kind of like looking at one of those pictures that is all dots until you look past it and then you see the clipper ship.
