Microsoft operating systems never hit their ship date, but it's rare for the announced date to actually slip in the middle of a Msoft exec's sentence.
Speaking at a press conference in Japan, Steve Ballmer (I like to think of him as the anti-Peter Moore) said that Vista would be shipping in "early January, late January, February. We are on track for shipping early in the year."
You see that? You see what he did there? He actually pushed the possible ship date back not once, but twice in two sentences. Brilliant. —Brian Crecente
