PlayStation Network Gets Another ‘Virtual Console’ Platform In Japan

PlayStation Network Gets Another 'Virtual Console' Platform In JapanJapanese PlayStation 3 owners are already enjoying some of the TurboGrafx-16 library, courtesy of Hudson's "PC Engine Archives" that let modern gamers experience a handful of 16-bit classics. One more console is being added to Hudson's list: the SuperGrafx.

According to a report from Andriasang, sci-fi shooter SuperGrafx title Battle Ace will come to the Japanese PlayStation Store next week, the first from the failed console released in 1989. Console maker NEC's follow-up to the TurboGrafx-16 was home to only seven titles, including Battle Ace, Ghouls n' Ghosts and Darius Alpha.

Ah hell, here are the rest: Aldynes, Darius Plus, 1941: Counter Attack and Madouou Granzort.

While we may never see SuperGrafx games leave Japan, North American retro gaming fans may be due for some Neo Geo titles, which look likely to hit the PlayStation Store at some point.
