Xillia 2 sports a few changes over the original in terms of gameplay, including a new limit break-style transformation and the ability to change weapons—from swords to hammer to guns—on-the-fly, mid-battle.
All main plot conversations and skits are voiced and many dual-path dialogue trees populate the game's conversations. The game also features numerous anime cutscenes by Ufotable.
