Filed right under "Things I'd never do but kind of wish I would" is this art stunt/project by Washington D.C. based artist Bryan Lewis Saunders. A little while back, Saunders took a ton of different drugs and drew a portrait of himself while under the influence of each one. Sure, coke and pot are here, but so are Butalbitals, a dilaudid/morphine cocktail, and a snort of computer duster. Holy hell.
This amazing and, frankly, disturbing feature at Cultso shows all of the self-portraits Saunders made, and it's harrowing, fascinating, and totally worth checking out.
Would you ever consider doing something like this? Do you think you could find the energy to draw a self-portrait after taking a bunch of dilaudid and morphine? Do you think this was maybe just an excuse to do lots of drugs? Oh, and what games will you be playing this weekend?
Feel free to talk drugs, or whatever else, here or over in the Talk Amongst Yourselves forum. Have a wonderful weekend, one and all.
