This Might Be the Most Well-Rounded Week in Gaming Apps Ever

Two iOS games, one iOS / Android combo, an Android exclusive and a special Windows Phone 7 version of a game that's now out on all three. How's that for diversity? Shut up, Blackberry.

As part of my never-ending quest to cover all segments of mobile gaming, I've gone so far as to take it upon myself to do two Gaming App of the Day posts this week, one for the Windows Phone 7's Final Fantasy and another for colorful Android real-time strategy distillation Auralux. Kate scored the Android / iOS puzzler combo, while Kirk and Ash did what they could with the tools provided.

All-in-all I am pleased with this week's results. My own iPhone may be curled up in the corner weeping, but that's the price it pays for prevalence.

If you have a suggestion for an app for the iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows Phone 7 that you'd like to see highlighted, let us know.

This Might Be the Most Well-Rounded Week in Gaming Apps EverThis Game Is Sort Of Like Bejeweled. Minus The Jewels.

As a kid, I was absolutely enamored of those books of "brain teasers" that had to be solved by drawing tables and marking off the little "yes" and "no" boxes. You know the type: if the marathon has five racers, and the one in the yellow shoes didn't finish fifth, and the one in the purple shoes was the one whose name started with B, but the woman who placed fifth isn't Barbara, what order did the five racers finish in and what color were their shoes?
