I'm warning you: there's some terrific cosplay on show in this week's Fancy Pants roundup. Part of it comes the regular way: people making perfect costumes of recognisable characters then having nice photos taken of them wearing it.
But some of it comes from that other place terrific cosplay comes from; namely, picking a character (or characters) that aren't so overplayed, and doing a good job regardless. Like, oh, the Mei and Satsuke from Totoro we've got here.
It's also nice to see that, alongside the 100th Poison and 200th Commander Shepard, we're also able to take a look at some cosplay from Sengoku Basara, another series with wild costumes and a ton of cosplay potential that's sadly a little under-represented.
