Of course, like most free-to-play games, Gundam: Battle Operation has a micro-transaction system. This micro-transaction system is built around the idea of "energy units." Each match you play spends an energy unit. You can only hold a maximum of three energy units and you gain one automatically every two hours. Once you are out of energy units, however, you are locked out of play until either your two hours are up or you purchase more energy via the PSN.
To see what the game is like in action, check out the video above. Or as the game is available free to anyone with a Japanese PSN account, feel free to try it for yourself.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation was released on June 28, 2012, for PS3 on the Japanese PlayStation Network. Stay tuned to Kotaku East for the import preview early next week.
