Microsoft's Don Mattrick has quietly announced today that Halo 4 will, in some way, work with the company's upcoming Surface tablets.

How, exactly? No idea, he wouldn't elaborate. But it's the first time Microsoft has really bothered to talk games in any way when it comes to Surface, so at least that's interesting.

In the absence of facts, let's speculate: I reckon Surface will boast a very fancy means of interacting with the game via Smartglass. As in, fancier than other devices, given the fact Mattrick was so coy about it. Also because Surface is a powerful, expensive and, most important of all, a brand new Microsoft device. Not something from some other company. One of those ones that isn't the same company that makes Halo 4.
