The first is the "free-flow" system which allows you to perform special attacks by interacting with enemies or the environment in certain ways. These attacks are always more powerful than normal combos and magic so a well-placed grind rail or light pole can make a difficult battle into a simple affair.
A new type of shooter stage has been added as well. Sometimes they revolve around collecting items or defeating a certain number of enemies. Other times, they're just massive boss fights.
