This Isn't My Cave Story, But I Could Learn to Love It

Fan's of Studio Pixel's original sprite-based indie PC hit Cave Story might be put off by the polygon graphics of the 3DS remake. Perhaps the game's 2D sprite mode will make the transition easier.

In Cave Story 3D's 2D sprite mode, the weapons and main character of the platform shooter adventure retain their original sprite-based appearance, while the game's enemies and environments retain the 3D look. The hybrid results are actually quite intriguing.

And heck, when it comes to Cave Story, as long as it plays the same do looks really matter?
