This week's PlayStation 3 price drop leaves one question in the minds of gamers that have been avoiding Sony's console: To buy, or not to buy? That is the question we'll be helping commenter GiantBoyDetective answer in today's Speak Up on Kotaku.

Alright guys. Talk me in to or out of buying a PlayStation 3.

I like: Platformers, adventure, unrealistic sports, side scrolling, fighting, and classic games.

Not so in to: Horror, FPS (first-person shooters), gory games, RPG (role-playing games).

I've only owned Nintendo consoles up until now, and yes I will most likely buy the Wii U next year. Big on all things Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and basically any franchise from Smash Bros (minus Metal Gear). I know, I know, the PS3 has none of my favorite games, but maybe it could. But should I drop a hard $300 on the system and a game?
