Anyone looking to pick up a Cosmo Black 3DS today from Amazon was met with a disconcerting note:

Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

There have been complaints of the two screens scratching each other when closed. Also there has been recent controversy over headaches caused by Nintendo's 3D handheld. A few hours later a message from an Amazon rep revealed the problem:

The flip-screen is loose when its opened, please inform them that Nintendo has confirmed as long as the upper screen locks into place, the unit is within Nintendo's design specification. Customers can call 1-800-255-3700

Apparently there have been complaints about the hinges on the 3DS being too "wobbly." Soon after the message was sent out, Amazon removed the "Item Under Review" note and resumed selling all versions of the 3DS.

Update: Nintendo offers the following statement on the brief kerfuffle to Kotaku: "An internal Amazon.com shipping issue triggered a brief hold on orders of Nintendo 3DS systems while the situation was reviewed, as is common in such matters. Amazon.com resolved the issue, and Nintendo 3DS orders have resumed. There are no issues with Nintendo 3DS inventory or quality. For additional information about this incident, please contact Amazon.com."
