WiiWare Draws Heavy Fire And Bomberman Gets HeroicS

Nintendo delivers an impressive selection of downloadable Wii and DSi games this week, perfect for anyone that isn't too busy catching new Pokémon to care, including a hardcore shooter and Bomberman's mediocre Nintendo 64 adventure.

One of two shining stars of this week's Nintendo Download games, Heavy Fire: Black Arms from Teyon is the continuation of Heavy Fire: Special Operations. You are a Special Forces recruit involved in an operation that involves taking down an illegal firearms cartel. Doesn't sound much like a mission they'd send a new recruit on, but then a new recruit wouldn't be using the Wii remote as a light gun either.

I'm more excited for Bomberman Hero on the Virtual Console myself. It's not that Hudson's Nintendo 64 epic was particularly good. Hell, it didn't even support multiplayer. No, I'm excited because I get to play it again and see how it stands up against one of the first video game reviews I ever wrote for a gaming website, way back in 1999.

Oh, memories. I guess that's what the Virtual Console is all about.

Check out the rest of this week's Nintendo Download releases below, and let us know if anything tickles your fancy.
