The Next Call Of Juarez Brings Cowboys To Modern Day L.A.

Trading the open plains for the sprawling streets of Los Angeles, Call of Juarez: The Cartel presents a modern day twist to Ubisoft's western first-person shooter series.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is the third game in Ubisoft's cowboy adventure series, far removed from the 2007 original and 2009's Bound in Blood. The game will take players from the streets of Los Angeles, California all the way to Juarez, Mexico, no doubt on the hunt for something important and/or worth a great deal of money.

We don't know much about the plot at this point. We know the game is coming to "next-gen consoles" and PC this summer and is being developed by Techland. All we have beyond that is a press release quote.

"Call of Juarez: The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options," said Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft. "The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot."

More details will be coming on February 9, when the latest issue of gaming mag EMG hits the stands. Until then, enjoy the box art.
