EA's modern take on the Medal of Honor series is getting a special Limited Edition version that costs exactly the same as the regular version. Of course you get what you pay for.
It's hard to figure out what the angle here is. The Limited Edition version of Medal of Honor, now available for pre-order at retailers everywhere, costs exactly the same as the normal edition. The only difference is the packaging, and a couple of extra weapons to help players battle their way through the ranks.
The package contains one exclusive weapon, the MP7, which is described as "a unique weapon utilized by Tier 1 Operators in the field."
"Access to a weapon like the MP7 will allow players to experience a tool developed with the Special Operations Community in mind," said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor. "With its light weight, high rate of fire and its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle."
Those who purchase the Limited Edition will also gain early access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns, two weapons that normally have to be unlocked through ranking up in online multiplayer.
The PlayStation 3 version of the Limited Edition will include a special version of Medal of Honor: Frontline, as revealed during Sony's 2010 E3 press conference.
