Missile Command rights holder Atari is banking on Hollywood's creatively bankrupt studios to warm to a movie based on the 30-year-old trackball game in which missiles are commanded and cities are saved.
The LA Times reports that Atari is in "active discussions with studios" to option the rights to Missile Command as a film, hinting that some studios may already be prime destinations for the license. Yes, it does sound about as exciting as the movie based on Asteroids plus relationships.
But you'd be right in opining that a movie based on Missile Command is not as exciting a prospect as director Peter Berg's adaptation of Hasbro's Battleship. Why we're talking about any of these properties in advance of Yar's Revenge: The Movie in 3D is beyond me.
