Nintendo's Mii Collecting Game Still A Big Hit In Japan

When Nintendo describes its software as "evergreen," it means games like the Nintendo DS title Tomodachi Collection, which was released mid-June and sits atop this week's Japanese software sales chart.

The Mii collecting game beats out DS rival Dragon Quest IX to secure the top spot once again amid a non-eventful release week. Stuff like Melty Blood: Actress Again and Ookami Kakushi manage to sell well enough to make an appearance in Media Create's weekly top ten, but not well enough to defeat bestsellers like Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii.

Of course, when Nintendo refers to evergreen titles, it also means much of what consistently hovers in the top 20 and 30 bestselling titles in Japan. Those are all listed right after this, Media Create's top Japanese software for the week of August 17 to 23.
