The Comic-Con 2009 Schedule: Just The Games

The annual San Diego Comic-Con isn't just about comic book culture. It's the mecca for all things nerdy and obsessive, including video games. This year's gaming presence at the convention is impressive, not to mention regularly double-booked.

Expect games like Gears of War, Assassin's Creed II, Halo, Bayonetta and Dead Space Extraction to get prominent panel time, with creators from each title giving informed spiels on each.

Also expect big blowouts from Brutal Legend—the only game sponsoring a GWAR concert at the con—one of many titles that EA is bringing to the show alongside The Saboteur and Left 4 Dead 2. Activision, Capcom, Microsoft and more will be bringing their wares to the con, so expect lots of new details.

Additionally, expect some announcements and knowledge dropping on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time from Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games, respectively. Both PlayStation 3 games get star-studded panels and Sony sponsored parties.

The full list of games-related Comic-Con panels—not including GWAR concerts—is now available for you to peruse at the official site. We'll be at Comic-Con Wednesday through Sunday, feverishly blogging all sorts of interesting things.
